Cablevision and GlobalWorks Take CTAM’s Gold Award for Best Multicultural Campaign

For Immediate Release

New York, July 27, 2007 – The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) this week announced the winners in its annual Mark Awards contest. The Gold award for Best Multicultural Campaign went to Cablevision Systems Corporation for a Triple Play campaign that was created and produced by their multicultural agency-of-record, GlobalWorks. The winning Hispanic campaign, conceived and produced under the supervision of GlobalWorks co-Creative Directors Caroline Fish and Takashi Omura and Chief Creative Officer Anna Radzievsky, included the award-winning spot ‘Reggaeton.’

Designed to appeal to Hispanics of all age groups, 'Reggaeton' is based on a Latin music genre that has taken the market by storm in just a few short years. "The campaign holistically integrated a strong selling message for Triple Play: from cleverly communicating product benefits, to the 'bling' chains highlighting price-points and the three back-up singers singing the toll-free number,” explained William Ortiz, President of GlobalWorks’ Multicultural Division.

“With Reggaeton, it was critical for us to find the right balance. The creative needed to engage our audience and it needed to feel authentic,” said Caroline Fish. “But most importantly,” she continued, “it needed to sell. And it did. It’s the most successful Hispanic campaign Cablevision has ever had.” Earlier this summer, the spot also won a Summit award. GlobalWorks is now working on a second Reggaeton commercial which will be produced in both English and Spanish.

The Mark Awards competition is a member service of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, and recognizes outstanding achievement and excellence in marketing from networks, cable companies, and suppliers.

Now celebrating its 24th year, a Mark Award (short for “Marketing”) represents the peak of marketing accomplishment in the cable business. Award recipients are known throughout the cable and entertainment world as “best in class.”

Nearly 1000 entries are judged annually through a rigorous judging process. The winners are honored at the Presentation of Awards Event at the annual CTAM Summit, and in a special awards section in the industry’s prominent trade journal, Multichannel News.
