For Immediate Release
NEW YORK, May 16, 2006 -- GlobalWorks Group LLC was awarded four bronze Tellys for TV spots it created for Cablevision Systems Corp.'s groundbreaking digital services, announced William Ortiz, President of the agency's Multicultural Division."We're especially gratified to be among the circle of winners, given that our creative was judged in a competition that attracted entries from literally all over the world," Mr. Ortiz said.
The Telly Awards competition attracts more than 12,000 entries annually, from all over the U.S. and many countries. The judges are distinguished advertising, production and other creative professionals who are previous winners of Telly Awards.
The four 30-second spots, all of which are notable for their cultural insight and singular humor, target Hispanic and African-American consumers, who comprise some 35 percent of the homes within Cablevision’s footprint.
"Soccer," aimed at the Hispanic market, promotes Optimum Online high-speed Internet. The others target African-Americans and spotlight iO (Interactive Optimum) digital cable and Optimum Voice, in addition to Optimum Online.
"Soccer" was shot by the award-winning Argentinian director Agustin Alberdi; the three African-American spots were directed by award-winning Scotty Bergstein. The spots were conceived and produced by GlobalWorks' Hispanic and African-American creative teams, under the supervision of co-Creative Directors Caroline Fish and Takashi Omura.
The four commercials represent GlobalWorks’ inaugural TV work for Cablevision, which retained the agency for multicultural advertising in all ethnic markets in April 2005.
